Society for Organic Petrology

TSOP was established in Houston, USA in 1984 to solidify and encourage the hierarchical exercises identified with natural petrology. The destinations of the Society, as recorded in its ordinances are:to advance examination in natural petrology among individuals, and among experimental controls, to give instructive open doors in natural petrology, to work for satisfactory characterizations of a wide range of sedimentary natural matter, to advance best in class innovations in natural petrology, to upgrade proficient and investigative cooperation’s among all researchers and architects, to motivate the most noteworthy standard of expert morals of its individuals.

Making arrangements for another formal association for natural petrologists started in 1983, on the activity of Pieter van Gijzel, by a gathering of natural petrographers, coal petrologists, natural geochemists, and Palynologists in Houston known as the "Houston Committee for Organic Petrography" and later known as the "Sorting out Committee for Organic Petrology." TSOP fused as a non-benefit in the condition of Virginia, USA, in 2008. In 2009, individuals voted to receive new Bylaws which joined the beforehand isolate Constitution and Bylaws records, and made a few redesigns.
