Society of Chinese Bioscientists of America

SCBA is a non-profit organization founded in a few prominent and excited bioscientists in 1984. Presently, SCBA has ~2,500 members from various universities, conservatoires, and biotechnology industries, industrial and medical organisations. Since its start, 40 SCBA Chapters have been formed in Europe, Canada, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, US and Singapore. The best part of these activities is an annual full-day research seminar around Chinese lunar New Year, followed by a socializer dinner banquet. The episode also gives yearly best Paper Rewards to learners.  A series of research seminars takes place throughout the academic year. Virologist Joseph Li's lab on Utah State University may be a long way from Asia-culturally and geologically-but Li and his contemporaries in the SCBA knows that goals like advancing biological and medical knowledge surpass all types of intellectual and governmental boundaries. Among the SCBA's objectives are facilitating networking among improving occupational opportunities, followers, advancing knowledge and founding a spirit of fraternity and international assistance. Separately of the SCBA Founders, Li has also helped as the SCBA Executive Director since he joined the faculty at USU. SCBA has five objectives ie. To advance biological and medical knowledge, to improve occupational opportunities of its members, to promote research in biosciences, to facilitate professional networking among members and to found a spirit of fraternity and international support.
