The Society of the Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants (SEMPA) is the high-class professional organization representing doctor assistants in the emergency medicine. It works continually to support the clinical, professional and personal development of the emergency medicine physician assistants. This society also works to educate the public about the importance, role and value of the physician assistants in the emergency department and in case of emergency. SEMPA members are women and men from all walks of life who exercise emergency medicine in academic medical centres, urban trauma centres, suburban and rural hospitals and also urgent care centres in the United States and all over the world. The mission of the Society is to support the professional and personal growth of their members through education, networking, advocacy and research and to protect, promote and advance the role of Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants. The vision of the society is the definitive source for Emergency Medicine Physician Assistants practice, support and education, the advanced leader and advocate for the EMPA i.e. Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant in the delivery of high quality and efficient emergency medical care and an important, connected community and engaged of EMPAs. SEMPA was shaped in March 1990 by a little gathering of previous post-graduate inhabitants.
