Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists

The Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists was established in 1971 under the activity of Drs. Alexander R. Margulis and Richard H. Marshak, who sorted out a building up leading body of trustees made out of themselves with the co-operation of H. Joachim Burhenne, William Seman, and Walter White. These individuals were impelled by a strong conviction that the various new progressions in the field of gastrointestinal radiology had made a necessity for an affiliation which could meet each year to review ask about and diffuse new figuring out how to radiologists excited about this a player in radiology. Since this Society was dedicated to the progress of gastrointestinal radiology, it was viewed as fitting to develop a yearly address in memory of Walter B. Weapon, the pioneer physiologist who began gastrointestinal radiology as a delayed consequence of his examination of esophageal peristalsis of a goose at Harvard University Medical School in 1898.

Since 1974, the Society has upheld a yearly postgraduate course in gastrointestinal radiology. The course targets are to review contemporary specific and expressive information on stomach imaging including fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT inspecting, alluring resonation imaging and interventional technique; and to present stream research in each part of stomach imaging.
