South African society for basic and clinical pharmacology

 SASBCP – new name since 01 Sep 2007 – in the past known as the South African Pharmacology Society was established in 1966 with its first congress held in 1967. It held yearly gatherings since and will commend its 50th commemoration at the yearly congress in 2016. The Society was enrolled as a Section 21 Non-Profitable Organization late 2006 and formally changed officially all things considered from 01 September 2007. The Society started the 'Pharmacology for Africa' (PharfA) activity in 2005/6 to advance pharmacology on the African mainland. Besides, the Society will host IUPHAR's seventeenth World Congress of Pharmacology (WCP2014) in Cape Town in July 2014.
