South African Society of Occupational Medicine

The SASOM, (The South African Society of Occupational Medicine) was formed in 1948 to encourage Occupational Medicine. It is an expert society and a party of the South African Medical Association with connections to the World Medical Association. It plans to ensure and advance the wellbeing of labourers through quality and word related therapeutic experts. Its National Office is located in Pretoria and the Society has three Chapters in Cape, Inland and KwaZulu-Natal. The Society targets for the development of Occupational Medicine and continuing proficient improvement of individuals. The aims of the Society are to improve physical, mental and social prosperity of labourers and backing the advancement and support of their working limit. Additionally profession and social improvement at work and advance solid and safe work, workplaces and work associations. It gives support to expert gatherings in the field of Occupational Health and Environmental Medicine. It has a lasting National Office in Pretoria with a full time staff  and branches in every one of the 9 areas and in Namibia too
