South-western Association of Parasitologists

It is likely that the idea to organize southwestern parasitologists into a regional group originated over cocktails one night in the late 1950s during a regional or national meeting.

In early 1967, Bob Kuntz and Betty-June Myers of the Southwest Foundation for Medical Research and Education, San Antonio, Texas, began to spearhead the movement to establish the new regional group. The First Meeting: March 23, 1968
