Southeastern Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists

This Society was started by a group of pharmacists in South-eastern Michigan, USA in the year in 1946. It is the regional association represent pharmacists and person associated with organized health-care sector. The objectives of the Society are to address the needs of health-system pharmacists in South-eastern Michigan, promote the rational use of medications and provide education programs to its members and to the community to create awareness. The SMSHP also promote, support and disseminate the result of research activities conducted inside the Institutions. SMSHP celebrated its 70^th anniversary on May 11, 2016 as the monthly membership meeting. Every year SMSHP give opportunity to recognize better pharmacy practitioners in Southeast Michigan for their contribution in pharmacy field by nominating them for the following awards UME Student Award, WSUE Student Award, Student Research Award, Resident of the Year and Pharmacist of the Year, Community Service, Committee Service and Innovative Practice Award. The current president of SMSHP is Dr.Mark Guzzardo, director of Pharmacy from Gensys Health System and it have 8 Executive board directors. It is one of the popular associations/society among health system pharmacists in USA. Yearly and monthly events are conducted by the SMSHP to promote recognize the pharmacists and their products in the research world.
