The British Society of Gerontology care passionately about the welfare and wellbeing of people of all generations, ages and about solidarity across society and also between the generations. Along with other global challenges like poverty, disparity, war, conflict, and climate change, the rapid and unmatched ageing of populations around the world is transforming societies in every aspect. This poses complex challenges for governments, civil society, communities, families and personalities. The need will remain for robust research, commentary, and policy reform around ageing populations and older people, whatever else is happening in the world around us.
For the continuance and advancement of gerontology in actual to increase, disseminate and apply knowledge of the social and behavioural parts of ageing in human beings by means of research, education, support, encourage, service and teaching in gerontology.
