The Danish Society for Parasitology, DSP. The society supports as ainteracting opportunity for professionals and students intricate with parasitology in Denmark comprising research, education, regulator and management of parasitic diseases. Having adjacent to 100 members, DSP extentsaextensive expertise within the expanding fields of Parasitology in the 21st century: Human and veterinary medicine, zoonoses, community health, vaccinology, technology development etc.Danish Society for Parasitology was originated in Copenhagen the 17. April 1972 at a summit where Professor W. Peters from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine held a lecture. Here the first board was designated: The zoologists, JørnAndreassen (President) and Holger Madsen († 1991), the veterinarians, ErlingBindseil (Secretary and Treasurer) and Peter Nansen (Vice-president, † 1999) and the doctors, Jørgen Chr. Siim and Torben Bille.
