The French Association of multiple sclerosis

The French Association of multiple sclerosis (AFSEP) is the oldest patient associations that fight against multiple sclerosis (MS) for more than 50 years. French Association of multiple sclerosis was created in 1962. Supporters, sufferers, relatives, friends are all united in the same spirit of solidarity. The AFSEP brings together all people with multiple sclerosis and their families. The AFSEP help, inform, represents and defends them from the public or private organizations and the government, and reflects on their behalf in the media. The mission of the French Association of multiple sclerosis is to support patients and their relatives, train and inform on September, to represent and defend with the bodies and to promote research. The AFSEP is present on the entire territory with its 115 departmental delegates. The AFSEP has acquired structures animated by professionals and committed volunteers to meet its goal of helping sick people. Every day, the Association listens to everyone to inform and strives to meet the expectations of all. The 4 priorities of AFSEP are (i) social action on behalf of patients and their caregivers, (ii) using the creation and management of specific centres of care and accommodation for people with Sclerosis (iii) support for research in social science (iv)Training and information of stakeholders involved with people with September, both at institutions and in home. To improve the quality of life of people with multiple sclerosis, the AFSEP alone or through inter-associative group operates every day. The main objective of AFSEP is that "persons suffering from multiple sclerosis are treated with dignity in all conditions." Anything that is not specific for multiple sclerosis should be treated inter-association via the working groups in which the AFSEP involved or in collaboration with other associations.
