The International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA)

The ICSA was joined in Delaware on August 8, 1988, then registered with the US IRS as a profitless organization. Its membership is open to all individuals and companies in all statistics-related areas. The International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) is a Profitless organization. The Association is organized and operated for educational, charitable, and scientific purposes only. To promote the theory and applications of statistical disciplines through intellectual activities, including publication of journals in statistics and probability, scientific meetings, and other educational programs, to enlarge applications of statistical techniques in all areas of society, including industry and government. The Association currently has over 1000 active members, and became a special JSM (Joint Statistical Meeting) association in 2008. The ICSA publishes two scientific journals Statistica Sinica and Statistics in Biosciences. It communicates by its ICSA Bulletin and the ICSA Newsletter. Its permanent office is located in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health, Georgia Southern University, Florida, Georgia, USA. The Association may have different categories of members, including but not limited to individuals and organizations. An individual or organization interested in the objectives of the Association may apply to become a member. ICSA members residing in the Asia Pacifi c Region, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and others (membership/devcountry for other eligible countries). Only individual members of the Association may develop into candidates for offices and Directors. All individual members shall be eligible to vote for the seats of President-Elect, President and Directors for the initial term or if such nominations are made under provisions of the By-Laws. Publications of journals and other periodicals, reports, proceedings or other publications may be commissioned in the By-Laws or by vote of the Board of Directors. The Association shall have at least one membership meeting each year detained at a time and place designated by the President with the consent of the Board of Directors. Amendments to and review of the constitution may be proposed by the Board of Directors or by a petition signed by ten percent (10%) of the Association's respective members. An amendment or a revision originated by petition shall be assigned to the Board of Directors for its recommendation as to ratification.
