Formed on July 14, 1994, The North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) is devoted to being the leading organization representing neuromodulation. NANS endorses multidisciplinary collaboration among scientists, clinicians, engineers and others to advance neuromodulation through research, education, innovation and support. Through these efforts NANS seeks to market and advance the best quality patient care. The organization was shaped because the american Neuromodulation Society, ANS, Incorporated in kentucky. As a separate neuromodulation society, ANS selected to affix the recently shaped International Neuromodulation Society as a chapter. The INS and therefore the ANS control its initial joint scientific meeting in Florida within successive 2 years. This delineates the primary neuromodulation meeting on this continent Neuromodulation is that the application of targeted electrical, chemical and biological technologies to the nervous system so as to enhance function and quality of life. With its extended mission NANS can work to expand the scope of neuromodulation as new technologies and treatments become offered. NANS can attempt to make sure that its’ clinician members are recognized because the pre-eminent suppliers of quality care to patients who might have the benefit of neuromodulation therapies. NANS will be its members’ prime resource for continued education, professional interaction and clinical ways to market optimal utilization of neuromodulation therapies. NANS can develop, spread, and maintain guidelines that promote patient safety, value effectiveness, and applicable patient choice for neuromodulation therapies. NANS can endorse awareness and advocate for neuromodulation therapies through its communications and interactions with the general public, medical communities, government, media and third party payers. NANS can work with different societies, government, third party payers, and patients to keep up access to neuromodulation therapies. NANS can promote and support clinical and basic science research to enhance the understanding of the mechanisms, expand the scope of, and enhance the proof base support for the use of neuromodulation therapies.
