The scandinavian society for the study of diabetes

The scandinavian society for the study of diabetes (SSSD) has been in existence since the 1960-ies. The organization arranges yearly meetings for people with an interest in diabetes research (all aspects) coming from the Nordic countries as well from other countries. The last SSSD meeting was held in Oslo, Norway April 24-26thh 2015.The next meeting will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland, April 22-24thth 2016. In order for young investigators to attend the SSSD meeting in Iceland we offer travel grants up to 6000 NOK which should cover a major part of the costs associated with participation in the meeting. We would like to draw your attention to the possibilities to apply for Young Investigators Awards (link “Awards”, deadline Jan15th 2016) and to nominate colleagues for the Knud Lundbeck Lecture (link, “Awards”, deadline December 1st 2015). The board of the SSSD is presently made up of Valdemar Grill (chairman) and Kåre Birkeland for Norway, Outi Vaarala and Johanna Lempainen for Finland , Marju Orho-Melander and Per-Ola Carlsson for Sweden, Niels Grarup and Kurt Høylund for Denmark and Kolbeinn Gudmundsson and Bolli Thorsson from Iceland.
