The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention

SCAI encourage excellence in forwarding and interventional cardiovascular medicine with the educational and representation by the advancement of quality level to revive patient care. It was established in 1976 then later it was under the instruction of scientists, researchers whose contribute with the development and implement the invasive cardiology and foresaw the need of a Cooperation in which it would service and advance the discipline. Further on June 5, 1978, it held its first Annual Congress. Institute committee structure designed to develop new information that used guide and to promote future lab activities. Emphasis placed a registration price of all procedures and performance by members, developers and quality standards for laboratories, to establish of criteria for credentialed physicians and directors and presentation of guidelines for training in cardiac angiography and catheterization. SCAI has a membership of over 4,000 invasive/interventional cardiologists and Catheterization lab team members. There are approximately 30 committees, which are open to all members.  The focus fields for SCAI includes in organizing standards and instructions for all aspects of cardiac catheterization and training, credentialing, safety, angiography and quality assurance for cardiovascular procedures.
