Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) represents innovative research-based biopharmaceutical companies, big, medium and small, leading an exciting new era of biosciences in the UK. The ABPI is recognized by government as the industry body trading on behalf of the branded pharmaceutical industry for statutory consultation concern including the pricing scheme for medicines in the UK. Our industry, a major contributor to the economy of the UK, carries life-saving and life-enhancing medicines to patients. We represent companies feeding around 90 per cent of all medicines used by the NHS, and are analyzing and developing the majority of the current medicines duct, ensuring that the UK remains at the leading edge of helping patients prevent and overcome diseases. In total, we have over 150 members: our Research Affiliate Members are elaborating primarily in pharmaceutical analysis and development, whilst our General Affiliate members are organizations that effort with the pharmaceutical industry in the UK. As the trade association for the research-based pharmaceutical corporation in the UK, we work at the heart of policy expansion and decision-making to assure that patients are able to benefit from the latest and most progressive medicines. Our members add to the large majority of pharmaceutical companies in the UK and we lead together both large and small companies that research and develop prescription medicines. Our members fund 90 per cent of all medicines used by the NHS, and are researching and developing over two-thirds of the present medicines duct, ensuring that the UK remains at the forefront of helping patients prevent and beaten diseases. ​Our culture is shaped by our defining values and we inspire all of our employees to grasp these in their ways of working collaboration,​communication, modernization, integrity and ownership. We continue close contacts with Government, politicians, academia and the media and we also have comprehensive links with health managers, patient advocacy groups, coaching and education bodies, research councils and other experienced bodies in the healthcare field.
