The Ukrainian Scientific Society of Parasitologists was established in 1945 at the First Scientific Conference of Parasitologists of the Ukrainian SSR (Kyiv, December, 1945). Experts speaking to three fundamental fields of parasitological science - general, therapeutic and veterinary – partook in the Conference. Since that time, the Society goes about as logical society of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. It was enlisted as the Ukrainian Scientific Society of Parasitologists (USSP) on February 16, 1998.
The fundamental reason for the Society is to join the masters for coordination and examination of current issues in parasitology and for advancement of present day data. The Society merges scientists from the organizations of National Academy of Sciences, Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Ministries of Healthcare, Agriculture, and in addition colleges, sterile epidemiological stations, veterinary examination stations, plant security system, and so forth. The USSP has the all-Ukrainian status and incorporates 15 territorial branches.
In different periods, the Society included from 100 up to 700 individuals. There are 156 individual individuals from the USSP now.
Starting from 1994, the USSP is an individual from the European Federation of Parasitologists. In 2006 it turned into an individual from the World Federation of Parasitologists.
