University of Manitoba Engineering Society

UMES was officially recognized in 1909 and later then has developed a rich history.  The University of Manitoba Engineering Society is the key student group for engineering students at the University of Manitoba. All engineering students are members of the group and UMES assists as a representative of the students to the Faculty, University, and another engineering school through the country. UMES also puts on a number of social, professional development, academic and networking events during the year for all students in Engineering. The UMES council is consisting of eight executive members and thirteen directorships. Six management members are nominated by the engineering student body each year in the mid of the winter term. Another two executive members and all of the directorships are selected by a committee containing of members of the incoming and outgoing UMES executive. Together the council works in order to develop engineering student life at the University of Manitoba.
