The objectives of the organization shall be to allocate for the association of persons engaged in the practice, teaching, or research in the sector of orthopedics for the presentation and discussion of items of common interest, to further scientific investigation, and to improve the specialty of orthopedics in order to provide better patient protection.
Pursuant to this objective, membership is open to and encouraged from all interested people from the international community without prejudgment to country, race, color, sex, or religion. Notwithstanding any other provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, the corporation is not organized for profit, and no part of the net earnings of the corporation shall inure to the benefit of any member; and shall not conduct or carry on any activities not permitted to be conducted or carried on by an organization excepted under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended, or regulations thereunder.
The term of this organization shall be never-ending; however, in the event of dissolution of the corporation, its property shall be committed to the American Veterinary Medical Association.
