West Virginia State Medical Association (WVSMA)

This Medical Association is a physician related organization which focuses on public health issues, strives to provide the biggest level of continuing medical education, and seeks to promote the time honored commitment of the medical profession while enhancing the quality of life for West Virginians and the association was established in 1867.

This Association oversees 30 component societies overall the state. In an effort to better serve the citizens of each and every department in West Virginia, we make great efforts to achieve to provide the physicians and volunteer leaders of each and every component society with the most present medical information available. With more than 2,700 members, the association serves the largest number of physicians in the state. Our members subsist of medical and osteopathic physicians in every range of specialty.

The West Virginia State Medical Association encourages its members to be involved, not only through their state and particular department medical societies, but within their communities. Physicians throughout West Virginia allocate their time and commitment to their communities by providing free medical services to sick and needy families, and performing in many civic and educational activities
