Nail psoriasis- it is one of the type of psoriasis. It affects up to half of the individuals. It occurs as a result of environmental, immunologic, and genetic factors. Nail psoriasis cause nail pitting, grooves, loosening or crumbling of the nail, discoloration and colored patches or spots under nails. Treatment includes removal of nails or by taking medication. Nails are removed by surgical or chemical methods. Medications are topical and systemic. Topical medication are creams and ointments of vit-A and vit-D derivatives, steroids, PUVA. Systemic medications are in the form of pills and injections. They are methotrexate, adalimumab. The nail unit is comprised of a few sections; nail plate, nail bed, hyponychium, nail lattice, nail folds, fingernail skin, tying down part of the nail bed, and distal phalangeal bones. Indications of nail psoriasis change as indicated by the nail's piece influenced and the way of the deformity.There is no cure for nail psoriasis however it may enhance without anyone else's input and may even come back to a typical appearance. In spite of the fact that nail psoriasis is a benevolent condition, it can be uncomfortable and look unattractive creating huge brokenness and mental misery.
