In 1925, meeting conducted in Joseph Globus’ laboratory at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City and Neuropathological Club group was formed. Later name changed to The Interurban Neuropathology Club and finally 1933 The American association of neuropathologists evolved. The main journal of Neuropathology and Experimental Neurology was founded in 1942 through this association. In 1960, the association was incorporated in Pennsylvania. Neuropathology is the study of diseases of the nervous system which includes the forensic investigations as well as laboratory analysis of tissue samples for personalized diagnosis. The scientists or physicians who are responsible for diagnosis and the conduct research in the field of neurodegenerative disorders, stroke, brain tumors, cerebrovascular disorders, Alzheimer disease, and cerebral palsy, brain developmental disorders and the pathobiology of nerve and muscle diseases includes the muscular dystrophies and neuropathies are mainly neuropathologists. This association is having 800 members worldwide. The main aim of this association is to encourage the study of diseases that affect the nervous system, and to minimize suffering through discovery, education, and the delivery of patient-centered clinical care. This association is continuously responsible for upgrade knowledge about disorders affecting the nervous system through courses, lectures, publications and other forms of communication. They are responsible for to create innovative knowledge through scientific research and publication, team-based approach to discovery and educate and mentor young physicians and scientists who have chosen. Annual meeting of this group is organized in June every year. The annual meeting has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for category 1 CME on an hour-per-hour basis and Senior Care.
