Italian Association of Internal Medicine was formed in 1817 it is the oldest Italian society . The goals of the Associations as set out in its charter are to provide opportunities for continuing medical education and organize scientific, cultural ,practical and social events pertinent to internal Medicine to provide fellowship for talented young researchers and to promote and fund scientific research.
In annual Programs ,SIMI achievers its objective through the:
a) Organization of conferences, seminars, research studies, round table discussions and courses for all levels of training.
b) Publications of Periodicals and occasional reports for its membership.
c) Support and promotion of scientific activities organized in collaboration with national and regional agencies, such as the Ministry of the Health, University and research, the Italians regions, local healthcare systems and other national and European Associations.
