Biography

Dr. Fekadu Fullas holds a Ph.D. degree in natural products from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is presently a clinical pharmacist/research preceptor at UnityPoint Health-St.Luke's in Sioux City, Iowa. Prior to his current position, he completed a productive post-doctoral tenure at the Research Triangle in North Carolina from 1992-1995, under the late world-renowned medicinal chemist Dr. Monroe Wall. He sits on the Editorial Board of several international scientific journals. Since 1989, he has authored/co-authored over 110 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, poster abstracts and on various non-peer reviewed platforms. His publications include books, book chapters, book reviews, research articles, and various topical articles. The manuscripts have appeared in such reputed journals as American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy (AJHP), Tetrahedron, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (J Med Chem), Journal of Natural Products (JNP), Journal of Chromatography (J Chomatogr), just to name a few. His research articles dealt with traditional medicine, natural product chemistry and clinical pharmacy topics. He is an Associate Fellow of the Ethiopian Academy of Sciences. He percepts PGY1 pharmacy residents on research projects at St. Luke's in Sioux City, USA, and currently serves as an external advisor to a Ph.D. student at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.

Research Interest

His current research interests are: traditional/alternative/complementary medicine and topics in clinical pharmacy.
