Melanin is a polymer which is derived tyrosine. Melanin is responsible for determining the colour of skin and hair. The presence of melanin in the skin depend on content it has been exposed to the sun. Eumelanin, Pheomelanin and Neuromelanin are the different types of melanin. Neuromelanin is usually found in brain and loss of this melanin leads to several neurological disorders.
