Psoriatic Arthritis is a type of inflammation of joints that is associated with psoriasis. there are 6 types- Asymmetrical oligoarticular arthritis (few joints like fingers, toes), Symmetrical polyarthritis (involves similar joints of both sides, mostly hands, wrists, ankles), Distal interphalangeal arthropathy (involves joints at end of toes and fingers), Arthritis mutilans (destructive psoriatic arthritis with severe damage of hands and feet’s), spondylitis (inflammation of vertebrae in spine with or without sarcoilitis), Juvenile psoriatic arthritis (only one joint is affected and seen in children). Treatment is given by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like indomethacin, ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac and it is also treated with antirheumatic drugs such as methotrexate, leflunomide, sulfasalazine and by biological response modifiers and injections with corticosteroids or joint replacement is done.
