Psychiatric Epidemology is a sub-field of epidemology which deals with the concept, etiology and prevalence of mental illness in a society. Most characteristics , attitude of people is often influenced by the society and hence a certain population has some features in common, thus leading the certain type of psychiatric diseases common to a population and if this is detection the population can be treated on the whole. Psychiatric Epidemology is comparitively a new field epidemology which is gaining attention and plenty research is still being carried out. Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform reasonably impartial review.
