Agricultural Water

Agricultural water consumption corresponds to 85% of global freshwater and is projected to double in 2050. The global water footprint of crop production in the period 1996–2005 was estimated to 7404 Gm3yr−1. Crops especially wheat (1087 Gm3yr−1), rice (992 Gm3yr−1) and maize (770 Gm3yr−1) require significantly amounts of water for production. In the coming years, crop production will increase in order to meet the growing demand of food, the new diet preferences and the shift from fossil energy toward bioenergy. Few new lands will be available so all production must come from the current natural resource base, requiring an intensification by increasing land and water use. Scholarly journals are generally academic journals that encourage academic and scientific research. These journals generally prefer to publish original works, conducted following a systematic research methodology. The articles published in the scholarly journals are critically evaluated following in-depth analysis of the research data. Scholarly journal articles strictly adhere to a standard format of writing. Journal of Horticulture is one of the leading Scholarly journals in the field of horticulture. The journal strives to add in theoretical and technological innovations as part of its publishing remit and is devoted to publishing the highest quality papers. The administration of the journal is integrative, reflecting the fact that imaging neuroscience is a multi-disciplinary science.
