The Integrative Therapies Program has launched a number of studies to determine the efficacy of certain complementary modalities such as the use of milk thistle (a non-toxic herb) to help heal liver toxicity associated with chemotherapy, the role of antioxidants in combination with chemotherapy, and the effect of aromatherapy in relieving anxiety and nausea in patients undergoing bone marrow transplant. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research.
Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields.
