Ceramics Review Articles

Ceramic materials are brittle, hard, and strong in compression, weak in shearing and tension. They withstand chemical erosion that occurs in other materials subjected to acidic or caustic environments. Ceramics can be classified as inorganic non-metallic solid made up of either metal or non-metal compounds that are shaped by subjecting them to heat at high temperatures. Advanced ceramic materials were used in day to day life example fridge magnets. They play a major role in modern medicine where they are used as dental implants and bone substitutes in orthopaedic operations. Ceramic artifacts plays an important role in archaeology for understanding technology, behaviour of the people and their culture in the past. Review articles are the summary of current state of understanding on a particular research topic. They analyze or discuss research previously published by scientist and academicians rather than reporting novel research results. Review article comes in the form of systematic reviews and literature reviews and are a form of secondary literature. Systematic reviews determine an objective list of criteria, and find all previously published original research papers that meet the criteria. They then compare the results presented in these papers. Literature reviews, by contrast, provide a summary of what the authors believe are the best and most relevant prior publications.
