HIV is the virus namely human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS which is acquired immune deficiency syndrome in humans. The person affected with AIDS will lose his immunity and gets prone to almost all the diseases that are caused by pathogens. Research has been conducted on AIDS and has concluded that AIDS is not a contagious disease. The main target of the virus is the humans immune system wherein it invades the human body and slowly damages the immune system by weakening the white blood cells and its ability to defence. Many research institutes have conducted experiments in order to eradicate this lethal disease.
