Data Mining - Open Access Articles

Data mining is a branch of computer science which analyses the data from various perspectives and transforms into useful information. This computational process of large data sets involves various methods artificial intelligence, statistics and other database systems. This kind of input data is further used in Machine leaning, data management aspects. Data mining is widely used in the field of science and Engineering such as bioinformatics, genetics, medicine, education and electrical power engineering. In the case of human genetics sequence mining is employed to detect the changes the sequence of DNA which is causing the disease. Data mining methods are utilized in electrical power engineering to monitor the high voltage equipments. Open access to the scientific literature means the removal of barriers (including price barriers) from accessing scholarly work. There are two parallel “roads” towards open access: Open Access articles and self-archiving. Open Access articles are immediately, freely available on their Web site, a model mostly funded by charges paid by the author (usually through a research grant). The alternative for a researcher is “self-archiving” (i.e., to publish in a traditional journal, where only subscribers have immediate access, but to make the article available on their personal and/or institutional Web sites (including so-called repositories or archives)), which is a practice allowed by many scholarly journals. Open Access raises practical and policy questions for scholars, publishers, funders, and policymakers alike, including what the return on investment is when paying an article processing fee to publish in an Open Access articles, or whether investments into institutional repositories should be made and whether self-archiving should be made mandatory, as contemplated by some funders. The Journal of Computer Science & Systems Biology includes a wide range of fields in its discipline to create a platform for the authors to make their contribution in the form of review, research, mini-review, short communication etc towards the journal and the editorial office promises a peer review process for the submitted manuscripts for quality publishing.
