The development of lasers for use in medicine and surgery has revolutionized patient care over the past several decades. In the field of otolaryngology, many types of lasers have been applied to treat a vast number of conditions in every sub-specialty including laryngology, facial plastics, pediatric otolaryngology, head and neck oncology, otology, and rhinology and sinus.
In this course the basic concept of laser and different laser techniques are described including instrumentations, anesthetic techniques, safety measures and precautions. The advantages and the complications will be illustrated. Also certain surgical considerations will be evaluated through my experience over the last 25 years. Yassin S. Bahgat, Laser Surgery in otolaryngology
