It describes about the death of a fetus or neonate. The rate of fetus death can be calculated by perinatal mortality rate. The foremost cause of fetus death is preterm death and infant respiratory distress or birth defects. Fetal and neonatal mortality refers to stillbirths or death within 20 weeks of gestation and death of a live born baby respectively.
