Forensic analysis can be classified into three distinct areas which are forensic DNA analysis, trace evidence, and drugs and poisons. During 1985 DNA analysis was used in forensic investigation and now also it is used in forensic science to identify the individual involved in a crime investigation. Today the forensic DNA analysis has become one of the most fast growing areas in forensic science because in modern time various technologies and genetic markers have been developed which include short tandem repeat (STR) typing with fluorescence-based detection. This technique is now used universally in forensic DNA laboratories. The difficulties like badly degraded and damaged DNA samples can also be solved by using reduced-sized STR or minSTR.
