Perinatal Depression Journals

Perinatal depression refers to major and minor episodes during pregnancy (termed antenatal) and/or within the first 12 months after delivery (termed postpartum or postnatal). Perinatal depression is a great public health problem. It affects women in most countries around the globe, but women in developing countries bear the greatest burden. Antenatal depression has low detection rate and many women remain under-diagnosed. Depression during pregnancy has negative impact on course of pregnancy, fetal and neonatal outcome. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields. Journals contain articles that peer reviewed, in an attempt to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Each such journal article becomes part of the permanent scientific record.
