"Journal of Lasers, Optics and Photonics is one of the renowned top access journals in Lasers. Practically optics is commonly applied in simplified models such as geometric optics in which light is treated as a collection of rays that tends to travel in a straight line and gets refracted when they pass or just reflect form surfaces. Physical optics on other hand is an comprehensive model of light, which compraises of wave effects such as diffraction and interference which cannot be accounted in simple geometric optics.
