Shift work sleep disorder is one of the common sleep disorder mostly seen in people working under night shifts. As their regular body biological clock changes due to their modifying working hours and sleep timings that in turn leads to insomnia and excessive sleepiness. This can affect the persons daily working functions due to sleepiness. Mostly individuals who are working in night shifts feel irritated under stress conditions. Following some preventive measures like decreasing the night shifts constantly for more than 2 days, try to go to bed early, maintaining a regular sleep dairy of at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day even on weekends. Go to sleep as soon as possible after work. It is important to get at least. Arrange peaceful, dark environment at sleeping time. Exposure to light during working hours i.,e shifts improves the alertness in work environment. Taking regular naps in between your work schedule also improves your concentration in shifts. It was also suggested that taking caffeine products also diminish the sleeplessness and helps for wakefulness. Even though shift works are not harmful but in future prospective it may leads to heart and gastrointestinal diseases.
