The technique in which pressure is applied to the neck which results in dislocation of the spinal column from brain/skull. It is a very painless and quick procedure. This technique has some limitations also, as this technique can only be performed on animals. Some universities have accepted this technique as an ethical way to end the life of small organism like rats, squirrels, mice. The aim is to quickly separate the spinal cord from the brain so as to provide the animal with a fast and painless death.
