Scoliosis is a condition where the shape of the spine is changed from straight to curved. The structure may be similar to S or A. It can be of two types, they are congenital and idiopathic. The congenital scoliosis is basically caused by abnormalities in vertebra that too from birth. The main reason of occurrence of idiopathic scoliosis is not known and is sub categorized according to the onset such as infantile, juvenile, adolescent or adult. People having reached skeletal maturity are less likely to have a worsening case. Some severe cases of scoliosis can lead to reducing lung capacity, putting pressure on the heart, and restricting physical activities.
Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications.
