We explore the use of an artificial neural network (ANN) model to predict discharge APACHE IV scores for intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Predicting mortality based upon scoring systems or models have been described but typically only use data from the first 24 hours. This work explores ICU outcome prediction using data from both the first 24 hours and beyond in order to ultimately develop a real-time risk management tool
