Early ART treatment tends to reduce HIV
Taking antiretroviral therapy (ART) very soon after infection may limit the size of the HIV 'reservoir' and delay viral rebound after treatment interruption but, does not eliminate the HIV from the body. This is because ART can effectively control viral replication but in case of HIV, it stores the latent genetic material and activates later on and to cause the disease to progress.
