The appearance of cataract in conjunction with other ocular diseases will complicate the treatment as well as it offers surgical complications to the patient. Most common associations are cataract with viteroretinal diseases such as macular holes, retinal detachments. The association of these diseases causes surgical complications to because both of these cases are evolving towards ever-smaller incisions. Currently there are two methods to deal with this cataract setting of vitreoretinal diseases. They are sequential surgery and simultaneous surgery. Both these methods are also found to have many drawbacks of own.
