The Advanced High-Temperature Reactor (AHTR) is a new reactor concept with three design goals: high reactor-coolant exit temperatures (700 to 1000°C) to enable the efficient production of hydrogen by thermo-chemical cycles and the efficient production of electricity, passive safety systems for public acceptance and reduced costs, and competitive economics002E. Evaluation of thermodynamic aspects of hot corrosion of the super alloys Haynes 242 and Hastelloy N in the eutectic mixtures of KF and ZrF4 is carried out for development of Advanced High Temperature Reactor (AHTR).
