Amplification of cDNA was performed with primer set typespecific (NP) gene fragment in singleplex PCR for detection of type-A avian influenza virus. Subtype-specific multiplex reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was applied according to [16] to simultaneously detect three subtypes (H5, H7 and H9) of avian influenza virus (AIV).
