Cat scratch disease is a disease caused by bacteria. The main symptoms of the diseases are selling of the lymph nodes. According to scientists, in one of the cases multiple splenic abscesses and abdominal lymphadenopathy in an immunocompetent patient with cat scratch disease have presented with fever, abdominal pain, and weakness. The patient failed to respond to treatment with multiple regimens including broad-spectrum antibiotics. However, dramatic improvement was seen after splenectomy was performed.
