Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Scholarly Peer Review Journal

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrinopathy of women of reproductive age and the most common cause of anovulatory infertility in developed countries. Diagnostic criteria, as suggested in the Rotterdam Consensus Statement (2003) include (i) oligo- and/or anovulation, (ii) hyperandrogenemia and/or hyperandrogenism (clinical signs of high androgen levels: hirsutism, acne, alopecia) and (iii) polycystic ovarian morphology on ultrasound examination. Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform reasonably impartial review.
