Journal of Probiotics & Health is one of the top leading journals in biomedical engineering which publishes novel research articles after rigorous peer-review process by at least 2 expert reviewers of the associated fields.
Probiotics and health are interesting fields which are concerned with the application of Aging, Neural mechanism, Probiotics, Prebiotics, Dietary component, Synbiotics, Host Immune System, Food chemistry. It involves developing devices and procedures that solve medical and health-related problems by combining their knowledge of biology and medicine with engineering principles and practices. Probiotics and health requires the analytical tools and broad physical knowledge of modern engineering and science, fundamental understanding of the biological or physiological system, and familiarity with recent technological breakthroughs.
Listeria monocytogen is gram-positive bacilli commonly isolated from environmental sources (water and food such as cheese, milk products, and undercooked meat). It can cause sporadic or epidemic infections and can be found in feces of 1-5% asymptomatic healthy adults. Immunosuppression, defective cell mediated immunity and pregnancies are considered high-risk conditions.Case mortality with central nervous system (CNS) infection is very high reaching 27% and many patients are left with neurological sequel. Though listeria meningitis has been described with the use of infliximab, its occurrence during pregnancy in ulcerative colitis is rare. We report a case of listeria meningitis in a woman who received infliximab during pregnancy.
