Mineral processing is a technique to separate the valuable minerals from waste rock by treating crude ores and mineral products. The major operations carried out in processing are sampling, analysis and dewatering. Final product obtained from mineral processing can be of high grade taken directly into metal extraction, such as iron ore into iron and steel. In some cases it becomes necessary to concentrate the ore into intermediate product and subjected to extractive processes to recover the purified metal.

Publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by academic scholars and professionals.
