Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) is one of acute onset abdominaldiseases clinically seen. Due to its sudden onset, rapid progress high
mortality and severe complications, SAP has become a key issue to tackle in medical field. Numerous researches have revealed that it is a
course of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) in the early stage; finally develop into multiple organ failure (MOF).
Stem cells are a group of cells which have capability to self-renew and divide and differentiate into specialized cell types. These cells
include adult stem cells, embryonic stem cells. Adult stem cells can be found in differentiated organs as a group of cells that are nondifferentiated
and have potential to self-renew in an asymmetrical way and develop into different types of cells in a specific environment. In
this way, they can help maintain normal physiological environment and repair different organ injuries. Adult stem cells from bone marrow can
split into hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) and mesenchymal stem cells(MSC).
